In April 2011 I ran my first 5K and got hooked.  Just 6 months before I weighed 320 pounds and had done a few weight loss challenges at work.  I had dropped to 260 during that time.  In 2011 and 2012 I ran anywhere from 12 to 20 races in each of those years.  I ended up running mostly 5Ks but also included 8Ks, 10Ks, and a 20K in late 2012.  I was running an average of 33 minute 5Ks in 2012.  Also in July 2012 I started working out with Fitness Image Results Bootcamp and then a Long Distance Training Program with Potomac River Running.  Fast forward to 2013, I have been with FIResults for about 9 months and am 3 weeks from the end of the 16 LDT program.  I started FIResults back up at 284, and weighed in at 240 this week.  I also ran the Run Your Heart Out 5K with PRR and finished in 27:23.  I can also run 10 miles without any issues, and look forward to the up coming 10 miler.  I also look forward to start sharing my daily training, races, and diet to towards achieving my goals.

I have set a few goals at the start of 2013

1.  Get to a weight of 220 pounds
2.  Bench lift 250 pounds
3.  20 pull ups
4.  Run my 5k in under 27 minutes
5.  Ride first 50 miler on bike
6.  Run first half marathon
7.  Run first full marathon
8.  Start training for triathlon

Memorial weekend coming up with lots to do.  I finished up my MBA at Syracuse back on May 5th and graduated on the 13th, now I have a lot of free time to catch up on things around the house.  This weekend I am hoping to get in two races, Cascades 10k and Ring in Hope 10k.  I also need to get some work done on the garden with getting more seeds planted, the new planter in place, and the strawberries planted.  Finally, I should get going back on the bathroom and clean out the garage.

With temperatures in the low 20's, chilly winds, and a trace of snow and intermittent ice I finished the race a little slower than normal.  I was focused on not getting hurt than competing on time.  Below is my time out of 523 runners:

Place   Bib #     Chip Time      Gun Time
439     304        35:48             36:07

On another note, Lynn and Maegan also ran the 1 mile fun run.

I had a long day of priming the rooms up stairs. I was able to get two of the four bedrooms primed along with the hallway. I'm hoping to finish up one of the other rooms tomorrow and apply a second coat to the other rooms once I get home from work. Right now we are holding off on the master bedroom, as I need to do some demo work to remove a closet and renovate the bathroom. The bathroom currently has a 3' X 3' walk-in shower which we will conver to a jacuzzi style tub and shower. Also, the current sink is outside the bathroom, which I will relocate the current wall so the sink will be in the bathroom.

As for other jobs at the house, I power washed the front of the house around the door which really needed it. I also managed to mow the rest of the lawn that I started last weekend.

Other things I am hoping to accomplish this week:
  • Paint the upstairs (3 bedrooms and hallway)
  • Run wiring for the ceiling fans
  • Run wiring for the smoke detectors
  • Hang the ceiling fans
  • Hang the smoke detectors
  • Install new receptacles
  • Power wash the back porch
